Freshman midfielder Thomas Sangiovanni is set to begin his first season as a Siena Saint. Thomas played high school lax at Harborfields where he led the team in goals and assists in his senior year. As Thomas begins his journey as a college athlete, he is hoping to contribute in any way he can this season. Q. What was it like being able to end your career at Harborfields as the county champions?
A. It felt great to end off my high school career at Harborfields being the county champions.
Q. How has the adjustment been going from high school to college?
A. The adjustments from high school to college have been challenging at first. The pace is much faster but once you get used to it, it feels natural to play again.
Q. What were some of the deciding factors in choosing to play at Sienna?
A. I chose to play at Siena because everyone here cares about you and wants to see you succeed. They have one of the greatest coaching staffs and they really help you on and off the field.
Q. What are you most looking forward to as your first season at Sienna roles around?
A. I am most looking forward to playing in my first college game and be able to experience the new level of competition.
Q. How would you describe yourself as a player?
A. I would say I am a fast pace player and I have a good IQ for the game.
Q. What are the goals you wish to accomplish in your first season?
A. I hope to get some playing time this year and hopefully win a MAAC championship.
Q. Do you see lacrosse being part of your life after college?
A. I would see lacrosse being apart my future. I feel it has been a huge part of my life and I will play for as long as I can.
