What a journey it has been for Chris Meade and Matt Wheeler. Since starting their company in the basement of Wheeler’s Connecticut home, the duo has found great success in the sports recruitment world.
Following graduation, the former Wesleyan University Lacrosse Players founded SportsRecruits in 2008. In their mission statement, the company promises “to empower student athletes to pursue their dreams of playing collegiate sports.” And after 12 years, they have done just that; SportsRecruits.com has helped more than 50,000 high school athletes “market themselves to college coaches.” The service also works with parents to better understand what can often be a daunting recruitment process. The Sports Recruits team now boasts over 50 members and is currently situated in Brooklyn’s Metrotech Center.
This afternoon at 2:00 p.m., Matt Wheeler will join Host Corey Winkoff live on Beyond the Game. The two will discuss their journey, past recruitment experiences, and what’s next for the company. This show will also serve as a great opportunity to learn about how you can help your own child through their recruiting process. The show has recently welcomed the likes of Author Andy Lockwood and Stonybrook Women’s Head Coach Joe Spallina. You can watch Beyond the Game Tuesday afternoons at 2:00 p.m. on Facebook Live and YouTube @FLG Lacrosse.
