The Gino Macchio Foundation is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to the late Gino Macchio. Gino’s life was tragically cut short in a motorcycle accident on May 4th, 2018 at the age of 25. He was someone who focused on preserving Long Island’s greatest resource, The Great South Bay, as he worked in the aquaculture industry by Oyster Farming. Gino was someone who was always willing to help others as his three favorite words were “I got you”. The purpose of this foundation is to continue Gino’s legacy and his passion for the environment and as well as always being a helping hand to others.
This foundation will help protect revitalize Long Island’s waterways, support addiction awareness programs, and improve legislation and increase awareness for motorcycle safety. One of the objectives is to provide educational programs for each of the three causes to help increase awareness in all three areas.
