Al Bertolone is a legend of Long Island Lacrosse. In the last decade, his leadership of the Mount Sinai Girls Team has been recognized on a national level. The team has won four state championships along with countless Long Island, Suffolk County, and Division 2 championship victories. The coach once again continued this streak with an impressive 15-3 regular season record in 2019. In an LILJ interview, Bertolone shared that he is “grateful and humbled by the success of the program” and gave credit to the girl’s hard work and unprecedented leadership. This respect is surely shared by the players, coaches, and staff who have accompanied Bertolone in this journey.
