Corey Watson is one of Comsewogue’s top offensive players. As the years go on he has only gotten better as a player and has developed a high IQ for the game by studying the moves of college players such as Michael Sowers. When Corey’s career at Comsewouge comes to an end, he is hoping to stay on the island and play at Nassau Community College to start out his collegiate career. For now, Corey is eager to get back on the field again and compete with his teammates. Check out the full interview with Corey Watson down below in this week’s uncommitted feature!
Q. Do you have any schools in mind that you’re considering playing for in college?
A. My goal is to stay on Long Island and play locally at Nassau Community College.
Q. What have you’ve been doing to stay active since there aren’t any games?
A. I have been training in my backyard, working out, lifting, and getting stronger.
Q. How has your game improved from your first few years on the team to now?
A. I have improved my game from the following years by working harder and lifting weights, training more on my own, and increasing my lacrosse I.Q. by watching college players such as Michael Sowers and studying the game a lot more, picking up moves from different players to improve my game.
Q. Is there any positive that you can take from this situation despite it being disappointing that there’s no games?
A. Having this time off has really made me reflect on how much it means to me to play this great game and how much I miss competing.
Q. Who are some of the people that have helped you get to where you are today?
A. Some of the people that have helped me get to where I am today is Coach Mitchell, Jake Deacy, and Coach Tom for always pushing me to go harder everyday in practice.
