The Paumanok award is back for the first time since 2019. This award goes to the top Long Island player in the senior class. This player is outstanding on the field and elevates the players around them to make their team successful. They also have the characteristics of being a team leader. Here are the candidates selected by the LILJ Staff for this year’s Paumanok award on the boys side. Kid was an animal at every aspect of the field offense, defense, transition, and is the best leader according to his teammates. Led midfielders in points, goals, ground balls and caused turnovers for his team.
Kyle scandale, Stephen Bayer or Peter Murphy. This list is a disgrace. Stephen and Kyle both point getters in Suffolk. Keep sleeping on Peter Murphy.
Adrian Nowak
Charles Balsamo
Michael Meyer
I have had the pleasure of knowing and photographing the South Side Boys lacrosse team. Brady West is an unselfish teammate who is constantly taking care of others while simultaneously dominating on the lacrosse field. He’s the first to lift up his teammates, congratulate their accomplishments and get them water during timeouts and half times. He is a phenomenal athlete who plays with the best interest of the team as a whole as his priority. He shares the ball has a great Lax IQ and most of all thinks of others before himself.
Dougie Rabin is a class act on and off the field. Always gives 110% and a mentor to younger players. Exemplary scholar athlete.
