The LILJ will be covering the Junior’s Open this weekend

For the first time, the Juniors Open will be held on Long Island at Stony Brook University. Since there will be lacrosse being played on the island, the LILJ will cover this event like we’ve covered many other events. We are excited to watch some of the best players from the 2023 and 2024 class in the country! Like other events, we will post story highlights of the best plays from the weekend as well as interview different Epoch players.

Kids will be traveling from all around the country to Stony Brook University to play in front of college head coaches and we at the LILJ want to help showcase these amazing players. Many college coaches use our website to stay up to date with statistics during the high school season. Now, we want college coaches to use our website and instagram to actually watch how these players play and act on the sideline. We will have a number of journalists and talent evaluators at the LaValle Stadium in Stony Brook promoting our very own Long Island players, but we also want to promote all these players. Many of the Long Island studs will be playing in the Long Island Championships on Saturday, but they may come on Sunday. These 2023 players have not had the opportunity to be contacted by college coaches yet so this event will be the first time many of these players talk to a college coach. We are also excited to watch the Long Islanders compete against players from other states around the country. Long Island is known as the hub for lacrosse so we expect our players to be the best. But, as the sport grows win popularity, kids from other regions will compete with us for the best and this event will be a great way to see how much lacrosse talent is around the country. Our main goal for this event is to showcase and hype up the players attending. We want to help the college coaches find the perfect player for their system and we want to find the perfect college for the kids. As the recruiting process heats up, the LILJ wants to help these young men through a tough but fulfilling process. We will create different posts with recruiting advise so stay tuned for that!
