The games got started with a match up in the peewee division between the Buffalo Bandits and the Albany Firewolves. It close game that saw the Firewolves edge out the Bandits by a score of 4-3 JR Barth scored two goals to lead the team followed by Kellen Denning and Freddy Krause each scoring a goal. The Bandits got one goal each from Alexander Mihos, Calvin Fredriksen and Nico Spallina. Next week these two teams will play each other again in what should be another greta game!
Game two was battle in the bantam boys division between the Toronto Rock and the Halifax Thunderbirds. It went down to the wire but it was the Thunderbirds that escaped with a 10-9 win. They got contributions from everyone as nine different players recorded points. Nolan Hopper and Tommy Leder each scored three goals, and Brody Waxer added three assists. Waxer’s three assists was good enough for him to earn Epoh player of the game honors! Shaun Tuccillo was the leading scorer for the Rock with two goals. Catch these two teams square up against each other again next week!
