At number 15 in the continuation of the LILJ top 26 preseason rankings are the Eagles of Rocky Point who hail from Suffolk Class C. This is a program that has consistently found themselves in the playoff picture by the end of the regular season and that continued in 2025 with 10 regular season wins and a playoff victory. This year will see a bit of a transition after seeing some key graduates from last year’s class, but there’s a strong sense of optimism building within the program among those returning as they are guided by third year head coach Kaitlyn Montalbano.
The Eagles return a young but talented roster with upperclassmen mixed in that will be challenged to grow into new leadership roles and establish a team-first identity. Among their proven contributors include senior Kaleigh Moeller the Florida State commit after a strong junior season, finishing with 55 points, scoring 35 goals along with 19 assists, providing Rocky Point with a reliable scoring presence in the middle of the field. The team also returns junior USF commit Cadence Adamo who was the team’s leader in total points as a sophomore with 70 and is in store for another huge spring. Lilly Wood (Saint Leo) added valuable production with 16 points, and strong defense while Megan Curtin (Mercy) and Teagan Trentowski (ESU) bring experience and versatility to the defensive unit.
Rocky Point did graduate a productive senior class, including Kylie Lamoureux, Fiona Vu, and standout goalie Breezy Henke, who recorded 119 saves and anchored the defense in 2025. Replacing that experience will be a challenge, but it also creates opportunities for younger players to step into expanded roles. Freshman Colbie Burke showed promise with 15 points as an underclassman, while sophomore Abigail Hansen and freshman Logan Poli are among those expected to take on more responsibility this spring. This winter Rocky Point was a participant in the LILJ winter league where sophomore goalie Makayla Blaising provided very strong play in the net as she now has an opportunity this spring to step into a large role as the anchor of their defense. As a team they went 4-2 this winter in six games played against high level competition as they gear up for the spring.
With a youthful roster and no captains named yet, the focus for Rocky Point in 2026 will be on developing leadership from within, committing to unselfish play, and doing the little things consistently. If the Eagles embrace that team-first mentality and continue to build confidence, this season could mark an important step forward in the program’s growth.
Rocky Point opens up the season with two non-league contests against Longwood on 3/18 and William Floyd on 3/23 before beginning league play on 3/26 with a matchup against Westhampton.
