No. 23 Ranked Comsewogue Spartans Team Preview

The Comsewogue Spartans come in at number 23 in the LILJ top 26 preseason rankings. After a playoff appearance but a defeat in the first round last year, the team heads into the 2026 season looking to build off last year’s playoff appearance and take a step forward in 2026. With several impact seniors returning and a handful of underclassmen gaining valuable varsity experience, the Spartans enter the spring focused on turning individual success into consistent team results.

The foundation of the roster remains firmly intact thanks to a talented Class of 2026 that drove much of the team’s offense in 2025. Kamryn McCrary (JMU) returns as the centerpiece after a dominant season in the midfield, posting 60 points with 39 goals and 21 assists while also controlling the draw. Vienna Guzman (Bryant) was another major force, finishing with 50 points last season. At attack, Gianna McNulty (Binghamton) brings playmaking balance after a 34-point campaign, while Jayla Callendar (Elon) and Mikaela Knott (Wagner) give the Spartans depth and flexibility in transition.

Defensively, Comsewogue returns experienced seniors who will be counted on to take a step forward. Caroline Scully (Rider), and Gabby Sohngen (Manhattan) help form the core of a back line that gained valuable minutes last season. In goal, Isabella Borusso (Central Connecticut) returns after recording 84 saves in 2025, and will be key to anchoring the defense as the unit continues to mature.

The junior class also provides optimism. Megan Brideson (Rollins) and Madison Moccio (FDU) add midfield depth, while sophomores like Paige Knott and Alannah Ragone showed flashes of promise. One of the most intriguing names to watch is eighth grader Lily Arnone, who stepped up last year as a seventh grader with 12 points, signaling a bright future with the program.

In the offseason Comsewogue took part in the LILJ winter league as they prepare for the start of the spring season. With proven scoring at the top, a returning goalie, and an influx of young talent ready to take on larger roles, Comsewogue enters 2026 with a clear opportunity to take the next step. If the Spartans can continue to develop chemistry around their senior class, they have the pieces in place to make noise this spring. The opening game of the season is a non-league matchup against William Floyd on 3/19, followed by their first league game against Sayville on 3/26.
