Now inside of the top 20 of the LILJ top 25 preseason rankings we have the Harborfields Tornadoes at number 19. In Suffolk Class C Harborfields went 7-8 in 2024, coming up short of making the playoffs, but this team has no shortage of talent and should be right in the thick of the Class C playoff race this season with their returning group of players both upper and underclassmen. For the first time this winter Harborfields took part in the LILJ HSWL to gear up for the spring season. Coached by Hana Lepore who enters her second season with the team, she says that some of the keys to having a successful season this year will be their off-season work, team bonding, and the team having a singular key team goal.

On the offensive side of the field in the senior class Harborfields returns Maryland commit Sawyer Scarola and Stony Brook commit Bella Monteleone, who had 27 and 22 point seasons last year. In the senior class they also return Ally Fiumara. Among their returning underclassmen include sophomore attacker Taylor Cavanaugh, a great one-on-one attacker with elite scoring ability who scored 10 goals as a freshman last year. In the 2028 class two of the household names on the island are Nora Ruddy at attack and Jamie Medico at midfield. As an eighth grader Ruddy was an impact player with 17 goals and 5 assists for 22 points and in the winter league Ruddy was dominant as she led the team in both goals and assists with 21 and 11. Medico as an eighth grader also played significant minutes and produced 13 points, scoring 11 goals with 2 assists.

Defensively they have plenty of experienced upperclassmen returning including seniors Mackenzie Conversano (FSU) and Lila Porzio (UChicago), along with juniors Devyn Slattery, Juliet Gianfrancesco (FSC), Caroline Gilhuley (Roanoke), and Erin Lindkvist. In goal is senior goalie Olivia Eusanio who recorded 111 saves which was good for top 12 across Suffolk County, but also look out for sophomore goalie Ava Kalmar to be a big part of the program in the near future. In the winter league Kalmar split time in the net with Eusanio and on three different occasions had a save percentage of 55% or better and totaled 36 saves.

To open up the season Harborfields will face Wantagh in a non-league matchup on March 26th in a non-league matchup, followed by their first league game on March 29th against the reigning Class C New State Champions Sayville.
