The Class of 2027 is littered with talent at the attack position, featuring a ton of prospects that can take over a game with their play. These recruits put their abilities on display this summer ahead of the official “Contact Day” for college scouts on the first day of September. Let’s take a look at five Long Island attackmen that really put themselves on notice.
Grayden Aebisher – John Glenn HS/Team 91 Machine
Aebisher is a plug-and-play type of player in an offense and it rockets his value. The lefty is already a three year member of the Knights’ varsity program, playing a mixture of midfield and attack at an extremely high level. His strength is his ability to dodge downhill on his defenseman and free himself up for uncontested shots. As a player with a ton of burst and confidence, Aebisher is the perfect spark for an offense and can be utilized all over the field.
Gavin O’Brien – Northport HS/Team 91 Machine
The 2025 Suffolk County Rookie of the Year built on his impressive spring campaign with an even stronger summer cycle. O’Brien’s big, 6 ‘3 frame is an asset in his game, posing as a monster-sized target on the crease. The rising junior caught feeds from his teammates on the perimeter and cashed in for goals consistently all summer. He’s a smooth operator when he has the ball on the outside as well, as he can attack defenders with both hands and keep his eyes up to feed.
Brendan Sim – Chaminade HS/Express
Sim impressed this summer with Express, terrorizing opposing goalies with his bone-chilling shots from the outside. The Chaminade product is an intentional dodger and scorer as he can will himself to the net almost whenever he pleases. His ability to shoot on the run stands out from others in his class, showcasing his talent to change levels and keep goalies guessing all summer. Sim’s knack for scoring goals makes him a threat the moment he touches the ball.
Roy Testa – Cold Spring Harbor HS/Eclipse
Testa’s creativity on offense was highly noticeable this summer. He was an impact player in a multitude of ways, winning his one-on-one matchups frequently and showing off his high IQ with perfectly-timed off ball cuts. It’s evident how comfortable he is with his stick and he showed it all summer long, firing off a bunch of behind-the-back and backhand shots that found the back of the net more times than not. Testa can hurt a defense in any which way he chooses; Pick your poison.
Nolan Wieczorek – Massapequa HS/Team 91 Machine
Wieczorek was an All American selectee this past spring with the Chiefs, and at first glance it’s not difficult to see why. The skilled attackmen followed up his stellar spring season with an equally impressive summer, scoring goals and making passes from all different angles. He has great explosiveness out of his dodges which is eye opening given his large measurables, and it could make him quite a deceiving player to game plan for. Wieczorek’s crafty play style can be a real force at the next level.
