Hills’ Anthony Pours in 7 Goals to Secure Comfortable Victory Over Massapequa


In convincing fashion at the Stony Brook University Indoor Complex, Hills triumphed over Massapequa in a Class A showdown between Nassau and Suffolk with a decisive 13-4 victory. The game, which took place on Thursday, December 7 at 8:00 pm, saw Hills command both halves, scoring 7 goals in the first and 6 in the second.

Hills’ standout player, the UNC commit Anthony Raio, scored an impressive 7 goals, leading his team to victory. Joseph Filardi the long pole heading to Syracuse also contributed significantly with 4 goals and 1 assist offensively while also adding 5 ground balls. Hills also saw Ryan Chung, add 3 ground balls and Ben Vogt add 2 ground balls and 2 caused turnovers. Goalkeeper Salvatore Santoro for Hills had an outstanding performance with 12 saves and a 75% save rate, effectively thwarting many of Massapequa’s attempts to score. At the face-off X Air Force commit Nico Ghicas set the tone giving Hills a big advantage in the possession game.

Massapequa’s effort was led by Jack Garguilo, who scored all 3 goals for his team. Despite their efforts, they were unable to match the pace set by Hills. However even in defeat, the goaltending of Michael Jannotte can’t be overlooked as he came away with 12 saves against a high octane offense that had a high volume of shots coming his way.

Hills was able demonstrate just how dangerous this offense can be both throughout the winter league as well as in the spring season where they will be a serious contender in Suffolk Class A​​.

Next up for Massapequa will be a matchup against Rust & Gold at 8:30pm on December 10, while Hills will be back on December 17 where they will face the 2025 St. Anthony’s team at 4:00pm.
