This past Saturday Cold Spring Harbor High School hosted the annual Gains for Brains tournament organized by Andrew and Laura Rappaport which brought together teams from across the tri-state area for a number of high level competitive games, all while raising awareness and donations for pediatric brain tumors. This year 20 teams took part in Gains for Brains for a total of 10 games with 9 of them featuring a Long Island team taking on a team from off the island. The slate of games got started at 10am and continued throughout the entirety of the day where many of the region’s top high school athletes put their abilities on display for their respective high school programs. With the LILJ on site covering all 10 games, there were plenty of players across each high school graduating class who stepped up and impressed in their game, with many of the upperclassmen committed to various collegiate programs across the country, and underclassmen that are already making an impact on their varsity team.
