For the summer of 2016, FLG Lacrosse implemented the FLG Lacrosse Summer Internship Program. This is a paid opportunity for collegiate or post-graduate student-athletes. The FLG Summer Internship Program not only assisted FLG Lacrosse’s full-time staff in budgeting, marketing, and running 5 summer lacrosse events, it cultivated lasting working relationships and friendships for those involved. The internship program also holds weekly meetings to discuss individual and team goals.
Responsibilities Include
Finance & Operations
- Assist finance department in event & team budgets
- Track all relevant expenses for FLG teams, training, and events
- Hotel accomadations and confirmations for individual, and team events
- Organize and maintain inventory of product in storage center
- Develop, organize, and analyze online customer feedback forms
- Promote FLG select team players, and showcase participants to the public, helping attract attention to their achievements, or highlights
- Assist in the production of multiple sports related blogs and publications
- Build FLG’s Long Island Lacrosse Journal in preparation for the Spring High School season
- Develop, target, and send promotional materials for FLG Lacrosse training, teams, and events
- Research information pertaining to the game of lacrosse
- Spearhead social media efforts for FLG Lacrosse
- Contacting prospecting athletes for FLG Showcase events via phone, email, and social media
- Build Klout on FLG’s social media channels, which include – facebook, twitter, instagram, & Google Plus
- Run weekly social media campaigns – contests, count downs, and highlights
- Monitoring the impact of social media and marketing plans.
- Organize team rosters, waivers, & pertinent data for events.
- Live updates on scores and standings at events
- Live updates in the message center at events
