The summer recruiting circuit is behind us, school is back in session, and the autumn leaves are already beginning to show their color. For youth lacrosse players, that can only mean one thing: The Columbus Day Invitational event is right around the corner. Known as one of the premiere fall showcases in the country, The Columbus Day Invitational is set to take place on October 13th this year at Susa Complex in Central Islip and Stony Brook University. The event will feature seven different age brackets, ranging from the 2030-2036 classes. Teams from all over the region are traveling in to compete, setting the table for an incredible clash of young talent.
Some of the top travel programs sending their teams to compete this week include Legacy, Igloo, Towermen, East Coast Elite, Team 91, and many others. Numerous standout collegiate players have suited up for some of these clubs before they reached stardom, which makes the next group of up and coming players that much more enticing to watch. The Long Island Lacrosse Journal will be there covering the anticipated event, highlighting top performers and recording flashy plays for their social media pages. These players have an unbelievable opportunity to show off their talent this week. The Columbus Day Invitational is known for its ability to draw attention, and this week’s event isn’t expected to be any different. Monday cannot come soon enough, and we hope to see you there.
