Chaminade Cruises Past Syosset to Keep Repeat Hopes Alive

On Thursday evening at Stony Brook Indoor the reigning champs from Chaminade battled Syosset in the 5 vs 12 matchup for a spot in the second round of the playoffs. This matchup was controlled by the 5th seeded Flyers who came away with a big 15-3 win.

The Flyers set the tone this game with the control at the face-off X by Quinn Ball and the strong play of midfielder Peter Debusschere who scored three early goals. Chaminade managed to outscore Syosset in the first half 9-2, and increased their lead in the second half, outscoring the Braves 6-1 to cruise to a 15-3 win.

The Penn commit Quinn Ball went 16/18 at the X with two goals while the Lehigh commit Peter Debusschere led the team with five goals along with two caused turnovers. Notre Dame bound Gavin Lynch contributed with two goals and two assists for four points.

For the Braves their three goals came from Hopkins bound David Disque who finished with two, and Sage Gershon scored one.

The title defense continues for the Flyers on January 7th when they face the Mustangs at 5:30pm. Syosset will now be in the consolation bracket and fill take on the Firebirds on January 11th at 5:45pm.
