Huntington Escapes with a 1 Goal Victory Over Syosset 4-3

To open the High School Winter League the Huntington Blue Devils came away with a narrow victory over Syosset 4-3 back on Sunday December 3 in a Nassau vs Suffolk clash. Goals were at a premium in this game, as the two teams played to a 2-2 tie after the first 20 minutes of play, and in the second half it was Huntington who had a 2-1 scoring edge which proved to be the difference in them coming away with the win.

For the Blue Devils, the scoring was led by Thomas Girmonti the Wesleyan commit who had a game-high 3 goals to go along with 1 assist, as well as one goal scored by Frankie Algieri. Huntington came in with two goalies who split time in the net between Will Fallon and Brennan Ackerman.

On the other side, the Syosset Braves saw the sophomore Brody Waxer score twice and one goal come from Nick Turner. Like Huntington, Syosset also split their goaltending duties between Max Glamobsky and Joshua Weisenfeld who made saves at a 66% and 50% rate respectively.
