SA 2024 Earns Commanding Win Against Wantagh

In a rematch from a non-league matchup during the 2023 season that went to Wantagh 7-6, SA 2024 secured a commanding victory this time around over the Warriors in a high-energy lacrosse match. The game kicked off with SA 2024 establishing an early lead, scoring nine goals in the first half while Wantagh managed only one. The second half saw a continued dominance by SA 2024, adding seven more goals to their tally. Wantagh showed resilience, scoring six additional goals, but it wasn’t enough to bridge the gap, resulting in a final score of 16-7 in favor of SA 2024.

Standout players for SA 2024 included UNC bound Tess Calabria, who scored an impressive five goals, and Penn State commit Brooke Long, contributing three goals. Megan Kenny the speedster going to Maryland also made a significant impact with two goals and one assist along with a game high four ground balls. In goal, Rutgers commit Stella Quilty made three saves at a 50% success rate. In the caused turnover department it was Jena Banks the USF commit leading the way with four takeaways, Riley Zusi the Florida commit also created two takeaways with three ground balls.

Wantagh’s effort was led by Juliana Cerasi the James Madison commit with one goal and three assists, followed by Binghamton bound Isabella Sandoval, who scored two goals.

This victory solidified SA 2024’s record at 2-1, mirroring Wantagh’s record after the game​​​​ as they two teams prepare for the playoffs starting in January.
