Nassau Boys Early Season Players That Impressed presented by Total Coach

High School lacrosse if finally underway on the Island. A few players are standing-out in Nassau, leading their teams to some gritty wins and impressive records. See who has stood out thus far below.

Jack Mccormack (St. John’s Commit), Mineola Senior is averaging over 7 points per game, leading Mineola to a 3-0 start on the season. Two-way midfielders has been a force for the Stangs. 

Michael Melkonian (Cornell Commit) South Side stud is leading Nassau in GBs with almost 8 pick-ups per game. South Side is 3-0 w/ the biggest test of the season coming up against Garden City on April 3rd. 

Troy Madden, Herricks lefty attacker, formerly a midfielder, has 11 helpers on the season. Quarterbacks the Herricks offense from that left side.

James Demakopoulos (Holy Family Commit) has already racked up 36 saves in four games for Wheatley/Carle Place. Despite falling to 1-3, James has kept his team in games, losing two games by a total of 3 goals. Demakouplos is at 60% saving the ball on the season. 

Leo Cataldo, Bethpage 2025 face-off specialist is leading his team at the X with 29 face-off wins. Cataldo is part of a 2-1 Bethpage team that has some young talent. 

Ben Meighan (Marywood Commit) is leading the 3-0 Floral Park Knights in points. His senior experience has Floral park buzzing early in the season.
