Rocky Point Outlasts St. Anthony’s 2026 12-10

In a back-and-forth High School Winter League match, Rocky Point emerged victorious against the St. Anthony’s 2026 team, clinching the game with a 12-10 scoreline. The intense battle showcased the talents of both teams, with Rocky Point maintaining a slight edge throughout the game for their first win in pool play.

Similar to last week’s game against Westhampton, Rocky Point was able to  get out to a lead, only this time they were able to hold on. Key contributions from players like McKenzie Moeller the Wofford commit who led all players across the board with seven points, and sophomore Kaleigh Moeller who had three points and was 75% on the draw circle were valuable in Rocky Point establishing a lead that was as large as five goals. Maryland bound Kylie Lamoureux also found the back of the net twice.

St. Anthony’s didn’t back down, as they fought back to narrow the gap multiple times. Madison Sussi who delivered four goals last week against ESM, once again had another big game, as her hat-trick and two assists played a significant role in keeping St. Anthony’s in contention throughout the game. Making plays across the board for the Friars was Meadow Szillus who stuffed the stat sheet with her complete game which included three goals, two assists, two ground balls, and three caused turnovers.

In the closing moments of a 10-10 game, Rocky Point’s Anna Wood the USF commit scored what proved to be the difference maker as her goal would give the eagles the lead for good, ultimately securing a two-goal victory. Beyond just her two goals, Wood also played a key factor in keeping St. Anthony’s off the board at times, coming up with checks on free position shots.

In week 3 the St. Anthony’s sophomores will face Westhampton this Sunday at 10:00am, while Rocky Point comes in at 1:45 for a matchup against South Side.
