On Thursday evening, December 14th, at the Stony Brook University Indoor Complex, the two 2029 Yellow Jacket teams faced off as YJ Duswalt took on YJ Friedman. This one is controlled by YJ Friedman as they came away with a 14-1 victory for their first win in their final game of pool play.
From the start, YJ Friedman established a strong lead, ending the first half with an 8-1 advantage. Their aggressive play and strategic moves kept YJ Duswalt on the defensive.
YJ Friedman continued control in the second half, scoring an additional six goals. Despite YJ Duswalt’s efforts, they were unable to break Friedman’s defense, as YJ Friedman kept them off the board in the second half.
For YJ Friedman, Iainie Friedman put together a big game with a total of 4 points from 3 goals and 1 assist. Ella Schopp from YJ Friedman also made a significant contribution with 4 points, scoring 2 goals and assisting 2 more, and Olivia Leopardi added a hat-trick while Hayden Duswalt scored twice. Doing some of the things that don’t show up in the box score between great defense and clearing the ball was Angelina Detke.
YJ Duswalt’s only goal in the game was scored by Giovanna Livingston, while Ava Fitzgibbon displayed an admirable clearing the ball ahead to the offense.
Both teams are back in action in January for the start of the playoffs in the JV division.
