Bayport Blue Point Clinches Top Seed With Victory Over Connetquot

Back on Sunday morning match at the Stony Brook University Indoor Complex, the engine of the Bayport Blue Point Phantoms kept rolling along as they earned a commanding win over Connetquot. The game saw Bayport Blue Point take a significant lead in the first half, scoring 10 goals to Connetquot’s two. They continued their dominant streak in the second half, adding 11 more goals to their tally. Connetquot managed to score an additional two, resulting in a final score of 21-4 in favor of Bayport Blue Point.

Key players for Bayport included Aubrie Eisfeld the Syracuse commit, who made an outstanding contribution with six goals and two assists, and Quinnipiac commit Emma Shanahan, who added five goals and one assist. Erika Kreuscher the future Stony Brook Seawolf also played a significant role as a facilitator with, four assists while also scoring a goal. On the defensive side Bayport forced a number of turnovers to command time of possession. Ava Meyn the Maryland commit, Eisfeld, and Shannon Kroog each recorded two caused turnovers.

Connetquot’s efforts were led by Cortland commit Sydney Elizalde, who scored two goals. Adding one goal each was Isabella Montuori the Kutztown commit, and freshman Natalie Insinga. Leading the T-Birds in ground balls was Ava Truglio with three.

This victory marked an impressive performance for Bayport Blue Point, improving their record to 3-0 and earning the top overall seed going into the playoffs, while Connetquot’s record moved to 0-2-1​. Heading into the playoffs Connetquot will face Mt. Sinai January 7th at 12:15pm, while Bayport has a first round bye and awaits the winner of South Side vs SA 2024.
