Bayport JV Earns Top Seed in JV Bracket With Win Over Westhampton JV

Bayport JV and Westhampton JV faced off in the final pool play game before the start of the playoffs in January, with Bayport JV emerging victorious. The match started with both teams playing an even game with the score tied 2-2 before Bayport JV scored three unanswered goals to lead 5-2 going into halftime. Bayport JV continued their impressive performance in the second half, adding four more goals to their tally. Westhampton JV managed to score three additional goals, but it was not enough to turn the tide, resulting in a final score of 9-5 in favor of Bayport JV.

Standout players for Bayport JV included Eva Carvalho and Emma Jensen, each contributing significantly to their team’s success. Eva Carvalho and Liliana LiPuma each scored three goals, while Kaelyn Aiello, Charlotte Bishop, and Ava Adams each tallied a goal. For Westhampton JV, their five goals came from five different players between Sofia Amodemo, Mia Mastropierro, Tierney McEntee, Bailey Hudson, and Reagan Schindler.

Both goaltenders showed delivered a strong performance in the net for their respective teams. Bayport JV’s goalkeeper, Sophia Diaz, had a notable performance, making nine saves with a 64% success rate. Westhampton JV’s goalkeeper, Mia Brown recorded 10 saves with a 52% save rate.

This win marked an impressive performance through pool play for Bayport JV, finishing 4-0 and earning the top seed in the JV division, while Westhampton JV finished just one game back at 3-1 earning the number two seed. Both teams have earned a first round bye in the playoffs as the top two seeds.
