YJ Grazidei/Stadler Earns First Round Bye With 11-9 Win Over Garden City

This past Sunday in the final day of pool play, it was a high school vs club matchup as Garden City faced off against the freshmen of YJ Grazidei/Stadler. This one was a tightly contested contest which saw Garden City hold a slight lead at halftime of 7-6. However in the second half it was the Yellow Jackets picking up the defensive pressure where they held Garden City to just two goals over the final 20 minutes, while scoring five goals themselves to secure an 11-9 victory and finish pool play with a 3-0 record.

Leading the charge offensively for Yellow Jackets included Olivia Brady who continues to play at an extremely high level as she tallied a team high three goals, while Cadence Adamo also added two. Defensively it was a collective effort especially in the second half as six different players recorded at least one caused turnover including Dylan McNamara, Cadence Adamo, Regan O’Connor, Reese Long, Madison Herr, and Juliann Brzeski. In the net playing the entirety of the game was Emery De Lauzon who made a total of seven saves.

For Garden City, their sophomore attacker Ashley Clark led the way with three goals, while Northwestern commit Kyle Finnell posted two goals and one assist, and Holy Cross commit Arci Haffner also poured in two goals along with two ground balls.

Upcoming in January, Garden City’s first round playoff matchup will be against Smithtown West on the 3rd at 8:00pm. YJ Grazidei/Stadler earned a first round bye and will await the winner of Commack vs SA 2025.
