Ellis Joshua · December 5, 2025 · 2 min read

The LILJ Winter Premier Showcase brings together some of the top 2029, 2028 & uncommitted 2027 talent from across Long Island. This year’s line-up of College Coaches is better than ever, including representation from the ACC, Big Ten, Big East, CAA, Ivy League, Northeast, Patriot, and Northeast-10 conferences. Here are some midfielders & defensemen we’re excited to cover at Winter Premier:

Excited To Watch

Sameer Rao – Midfield (2028, St. Anthony’s, Be the Best)

Great between the lines, hard step-down shooter, can face off, and plays well with and without the ball. A true all-around midfielder.

Douglas Ruhs – Midfield (2028, Chaminade, LI Express)

Versatile above and below GLE, plays with passion, has strong off-ball hands, and can dodge, step down, and find seams against man or zone. Smooth, skilled player.

Keven Bonilla – Midfield (2027, Babylon, Recon)

Electric dodger with a lightning-quick first step. Dangerous when hands are free on the run or off a step-down. Shoots from multiple release points. A major sleeper in the class.

Connor McCrain – Midfield (2028, Ward Melville)

Strong on-ball defender, downhill dodger, and an elite ground ball guy. Reliable between the lines and does all the little things that win games.

Cameron Meadows – Defense (2027, Miller Place)

Dominant off the wings and off the ground. A ground ball machine with a unique defensive skill set. A late recruit who will be a major steal for the right program.

Christopher Cielusniak – Defense (2029, Manhasset)

Elite lefty two-way athlete with high-level skill between the lines. A true takeaway defenseman who can flip a game with one play—rare and valuable.

Danny Peters – Defense (2028, Garden City, Igloo Northmen)

Long, disciplined, and skilled. Gets on hands, scoops everything, and defends topside extremely well. Pushes transition and creates turnovers without sacrificing position. Can cover anywhere on the field.

Brody Jackson – Defense (2028, Bethpage, Igloo Frost)

Great feet and speed between the 30s. Skilled with both hands, excellent at getting on hands and under gloves. Vision and poise make him a threat in transition.
